Since 2007, we have led to raise thousands of dollars for MUSC Children's Hospital. We have been at the forefront for being the largest student run philanthropy on College of Charleston's campus.
Charleston Miracle raises money and awareness for MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital, our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. The money that we raise directly supports the building of the new Children's Hospital, but in particular, sponsoring a room at the new hospital. Comprised of and run only by students, we are the largest philanthropic student-run organization at the College of Charleston.
As an organization, we host many events throughout the school year to engage our campus and community for our cause. These events help us spread the word about who we are and what we stand for as we raise money, recruit new members, and interact with our Miracle Families and hospital. All of our events and fundraising lead up to CougarThon, our capstone event in late February/early March. Our participants and Miracle families come together for 13 hours of performances, dancing, and activities as we complete our last big fundraising push. At the end of the 13 hours, we celebrate our families as we reveal just how much money we raised that season. You won’t want to miss it!
What We've Achieved
Over the past 12 years we have raised $739,757.60 for MUSC Children's Hospital. We have had the privilege to be working towards supporting their new hospital, Shawn Jenkins. This past year marked our third and final year in an agreement to sponsor a room by raising $150,000, so there will now be a couplet room on the 5th floor in the new hospital named in recognition of Charleston Miracle.
